LIZETTE RODRIGUEZ

I began my creative journey in cosmetics with Chanel at Nordstrom in 2006. Soon after graduating from the Los Angeles Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising with a degree in Visual Communication, I transferred to the Visual Department at The Farmers Market. While working at the Grove I also had the opportunity to work on special events with many designers and celebrities.

Inspired, I took my first steps into the film industry. While working side-by-side and on set with established makeup artists it came to my realization that makeup, wardrobe, and hair are inextricably linked, all coming together to create a whole picture. Having experience now in makeup and wardrobe, it was clear my path would take me next to the Aveda Institute Los Angeles cosmetology program.

While a student, I received an honorable mention in the Pro Beauty Association’s Beacon competition, earning an invitation to their annual awards celebration and seminar. To that end I was motivated and dove into my career by pursuing a mentorship with the amazing Margeaux Hamrock co-owner of Salon Wire.

After an enlightening and transformative experience with Margeaux, I decided to expand my clientele base and headed towards the valley. In 2016 I kick started my career in Studio City. Working at Mane Fixation has helped me focus not only on cutting but also color & styling. It was here where my foundations for the craft began and have yet to end.

By 2018 it was very apparent that barbering was my only missing link. Being born in Long Beach, Ca. and raised in the City of Carson it was only ideal to stay within my vicinity. With that being said I decided to attended the John Wesley Barbering College program. In 2019, shortly after receiving my license I started working under the tutelage of the raw and talented Rocky Casillas. Learning the traditional values for not only old school barbering but also being fluent in new school styling has allowed me to mesh the two genres.

After extensive training as well as never ending education all my hard work has lead me back to my stomping grounds. Circulating back in 2022 to where it all started, working at a salon friendly shop as not only a barber but also a stylist for one of the most pronounced boutique barbershops of the entire Los Angeles county, HOUSE OF AANUKO.

My experiences in beauty, wardrobe styling, hair, & barbering along with the skill and ability to lead innovative & creative design concepts, have all played a part in my accomplishment of becoming a true wild card of all trades.
